Europe had high winds. Many on the team were inside the office listening to the howling and the hail. Heidi Choy was getting off the bus on her way back from Schipol airport (getting her vacinations for a trip to India) and had to hold on to the light post while waiting for the signal to change. Luckily for her, it hadn't yet reached its peak.
The next day, on the way to Hazerswoude, we saw that this truck was still in the canal after being blown in. The internet showed some cars along canals in various cities being crushed by toppled trees. The train station in Germany was heavily damaged. We heard many people were killed by the storm. We were pretty luckily in Leiden--damage was minimal.
