Gables in Amsterdam

I headed off to Amsterdam on my own, carrying the new pocket map I got from the Darwicki's for Christmas. The train ride was pretty quick, I took the sneltrain, which only stops at Schipol Airport, then Amsterdam. The stoptrain has several additional stops on the way to and from Leiden. I had plenty of time to linger over the interesting details around the city.

I find the different gables on the buildings in Holland rather fascinating. Here is a close-up view.
